Internal Family Systems Therapy with Simon d’Orsogna

September 18 @ 9:00 am - September 20 @ 5:00 pm

$850 – $920

The Adelaide Trauma Centre brings you a 3 day Introduction to Internal Family Systems Therapy with Simon D’orsogna.

The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model is a scientifically validated therapeutic approach that creates safety, accelerates healing and brings lasting relief. Endorsed by Dr. Gabor Maté, Bessel Van der Kolk, Janina Fisher and many other leaders in the trauma field, this approach is a powerful and restorative framework for all therapists’ working with complex presentations. IFS accesses our inherent self healing capacity, beautifully augments somatic trauma therapy and is particularly helpful when working with dissociation.

Through a variety of teaching modalities, including experiential exercises, guided meditations, live demonstrations, and an annotated video of a complete IFS session by founder Richard Schwartz, this workshop will prepare you to introduce IFS into your practice. Various “parts” of the clinician that contribute to our work with vulnerable populations will also be explored and participants will learn a number of techniques for accessing their own Self – both in and out of the therapy room.

Suitable for professionals (psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, expressive and therapeutic arts practitioners, social workers etc.) as well as those practitioners primarily interested in their own self-care. The focus will be on developing experiential skills and providing a safe space to develop a comfortable facility with the powerful attitudes and techniques that make IFS so effective.
