Deepening IFS Workshop – Melb October 18
October 26 @ 9:00 am - October 27 @ 4:30 pm
In this workshop you will extend yourself with the Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) model of psychotherapy to further teach the non-pathological multiplicity of mind. This 2018 Deepening Practice Workshop will be open to those who have completed an Introductory workshops offered previously, or are well-familiar with the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy through direct experience in workshop or supervision. Introductory IFS workshops are planned in both Sydney and Melbourne in early October 2018 (read down for dates).
Melbourne-based IFS practitioner Simon d’Orsogna MA will facillitate a two-day Deepening IFS Practice Workshop (Fri-Sat). These are suitable for professionals (therapists, psychologists, counsellors, expressive arts therapists and social workers) as well as those interested in self-development.
The focus is going deeper into the IFS skills and techniques, and enhancing personal capacity. The workshop will build intermediate skills and cover the Inner Critic, Polarizations, and working with the Self of the Therapist (deepening the 8Cs and 5Ps of Therapist’s Self) through coached afternoon practice each day.
- Day 1 – Inner Critics (exploring Protective sub-personalities as Defenders, Persecutors, Distractors and artefacts of trauma)
- Day 2 – Polarizations (antagonistic ego-states for defence, care, and maintenance)
The Introductory Workshops (2 days on 19th and 20th (Fri-Sat) October 2018 in Melbourne, or weekend of 6th and 7th (Sat-Sun) 2018 in Sydney) will teach the basics of the IFS approach from the ground up, and attending this or a previous Introductory workshop or IFS supervision is a pre-requisite for attending this Deepening event.
This two day Deepening workshop is an opportunity for presentations, live demonstrations, experiential learning by doing, and provides a safe space to develop greater facility with the powerful attitudes and techniques that make IFS so effective. The sessions here provide deeper learning and an opportunity to work in small groups with maximum in-the-seat learning in a supportive atmosphere.
It is required you attend the Introduction IFS workshop, or ‘IFS Online Circle’ or equivalent learning in order to join this workshop.
See the online flyer HERE for joining the e-list and more general information on IFS workshops and certification trainings in Australia.
Testimonials from attendees of Simon’s IFS workshops in Australia:
“ A joy and a surprise to find such an experience of warmth and connection alongside intense learning and skills acquisition.
Extraordinary- met me exactly where I needed in terms of the edge of my knowledge, and then expanded my understanding.
A fantastic integration of theory, demonstrations and practice.
I have not ever attended such a training before that just sits comfortably with a respectfulness to work with clients and has also enabled me to consider my ‘Self’ and its importance professionally and personally.
Well structured and a great synthesis of working with parts and establishing Self in a psychological and spiritual sense.
The workshop was both informative and consolidating of the IFS theory. The theory that provides a model for workig non judgementaly with all parts of the person while at the same time encouraging Self development and leadership.
Fantastic experience, particularly the live demos which added great authenticity to the process.
Very hands on learning in an extremely safe supportive, well-organised environment. There was an assumption of clinical skills and knowledge that allowed the group to go to applications in practice straight away with reading links to fill any gaps
